Terri LaFlesh wrote the first draft of Curly Like Me by hand while commuting to and from work on the train. She also started a website (tightlycurly.com) so other people wouldn’t have to go through with their hair what she did with hers. Teri met her agent through the editor she had hired to go over her, and—much to her surprise and happiness— her book found a home with John Wiley & Sons.
